Of mahogany. The veined elliptical white marble tops with molded edge rest upon a plain frieze and are raised upon three octagonal legs terminating in brass sabots and castors. Finely made narrow slots in back of frieze and back rail may indicate that the tables once had an interchangeable function, possibly as jardineres, and the slots were there to attach metal trays. Some greenish discoloration near each of these slots could support this theory.
