Of rosewood and gilt brass. Each chair is upholstered with old but not original leather to backs and seats. Each with slightly flared back, with close brass-nail studded edging. The upper reverse side of each chair carved with a lifting handle in the form of a sea-shell. The seat is attached to a slim molded rail and is supported on four finely turned legs, possibly evoking bamboo, each leg terminating in a finely cast gilt brass leonine foot. Minor repairs.
