    A charming set of six blue and ochre painted wall panels in the chinoiserie taste

    Probably North Italian. Mid Eighteenth Century.

    Measurements

    The Four large panels Including frame: Height: 82 1/2" Width: 69 1/2"; Depth 4" (10.2 cm). The two smaller panels : With Frames: Height: 91 1/2" (232.4 cm); Width: 41 1/2" (104.8 cm).

    Research
    Oil on canvas. Later blue painted and gilded molded frames. Each composed of a series of vignettes including Chinese deities, hunting scenes, and imaginary buildings. Original foliate horizontal borders folded back behind frames. Old restoration and some patching to backs. 


    This set comprises four larger panels measuring  Height: 82 1/2″  Width: 69 1/2″;  Depth 4″ (10.2 cm), and two smaller ones Height: 91 1/2″ (232.4 cm); Width: 41 1/2″ (104.8 cm).
