Oil on canvas.
This painting, which depicts a view of a noble courtyard with gentlemen and peasants, is by an artist who could be considered one of the most distinctive and imaginative names of the 18th-century Venetian landscape genre, representing a significant addition to his body of work.
The subject-matter of this remarkable piece appears to further substantiate the close connection Alessandro Grevenbroeck had with the Serenissima, representing, in every probability, through an articulated scenographic backdrop, a colourful aspect of customary life of the Venetian mainland, his adopted home.
