Research:
Of carved ebonized wood. The rectangular statuary marble top rests upon a slim molded frieze. The base composed of a massive central fluted column flanked by cylindrical supports headed by carved swans’ heads with lotus carved collars.
This extremely elegant table is conceived in the neoclassical taste that informed Italian furniture and architectural design in the peninsula during the 1920s and 1930s. The table seems to represent a fresh interpretation of the neoclassicism particular to the Liguran capital of Genoa.
