11353 AN INTERESTING PAIR OF SATINWOOD TWO DOOR CABINETS ‘EN QUATRE FACE’ Probably American. One Circa 1930, The Other 1950s or 1960s. Measurements: Height: 36 3/4″ (93.4 cm) Width: 36″ (91.4) Depth 18 1/2″ (47 cm).



Research
Of solid and veneered satinwood. The front of each fitted with two doors centered by a line inlaid rectangular flush panel. The sides, back and top of similar formation. Both rest on a solid satinwood stand with four square tapering legs and original brass casters. Differences in construction and slight difference in interpretation of design, i.e. one cabinet has crossbanding around the panels, the other is without; one cabinet’s doors are hinged to a slim side panel and the other is hinged to the cabinet’s sides; one cabinet has double lever brass locks and the other has a lock inscribed Eagle Lock Co. datable to the 1950s or ’60s.
