11440 A SUPERB ‘CHAISE À MEDALLION’ ARMCHAIR OF UNUSUAL DIMINUTIVE SCALE WITH ORIGINAL TWO COLOR GILDING BEARING THE STAMP OF LOUIS DELANOIS (1731-1792), REÇU MAÎTRE IN 1761 Paris. Circa 1770. Measurements: Height: 34 1/2″ (87.5 cm) Width: 23″ (58 cm) Depth: 20 1/2″ (49 cm) Height to top of front rail: 12 3/4″ (32.5 cm).



Research
Of giltwood. The oval backrest carved with a rope twist border, the out-curved armrests raised with enclosed foliate decoration supported on down-curved scrolled fluted supports carved with foliage. The bow-fronted with carved waterleaf and beaded molding raised on circular, tapered, fluted legs.
